Tydzień temu zaprezentowałem Wam wstępnie przygotowane moduły makiety rzeki. Dziś mam dla Was krótki poradnik, w którym pokażę Wam jak zbudowałem modułową rzekę. Pracę zacząłem od przygotowania separatorów, którymi będą stykać się poszczególne moduły, tak by pasowały do siebie. Separatory wyciąłem ze styroduru, a następnie przykleiłem klejem polimerowym do wyciętych z plasticardu modułów.

A week ago, I presented the preliminarily prepared river terrain modules. Today, I have a short tutorial for you, in which I’ll show how I built the modular river. I started by preparing the separators where the individual modules will connect, ensuring they fit together properly. I cut the separators from XPS foam and then glued them with polymer adhesive to the modules cut from plasticard.

Kolejnym krokiem było zrobienie brzegów rzeki, do tego celu wykorzystałem pocięty na paski styrodur, który ponownie klejem polimerowym przykleiłem do brzegów modułów. Styrodur pocięty na paski łatwo się modeluje i zrobienie brzegów nie sprawiło żadnych trudności.

The next step was to create the riverbanks. For this, I used XPS foam cut into strips, which I once again glued to the edges of the modules using polymer adhesive. The foam strips are easy to shape, so forming the banks was a smooth and effortless process.

Po wyschnięciu kleju, na ułożone z pociętego w paski styroduru brzegi nałożyłem gips szpachlowy. Po wyschnięciu gipsu przeszlifowałem brzegi gąbkami ściernymi.

After the glue had dried, I applied plaster filler over the riverbanks made from the foam strips. Once the plaster had set, I smoothed the banks using sanding sponges.

Na tak przygotowane moduły nałożyłem różnego rodzaju pasty strukturalne, przykleiłem różnego rodzaju posypki i piasek, muszelki oraz kamienie, a na koniec nałożyłem zmieszaną z klejem do drewna ziemię do kwiatów.

I applied various types of texture pastes to the prepared modules, then glued on different types of scatter materials and sand, as well as small shells and stones. Finally, I added potting soil mixed with wood glue.

Ponieważ, po pomalowaniu zamierzam zalać moduły żywicą, z przeźroczystych okładek do bindowania wyciąłem paski, której klejem polimerowym przykleiłem do krawędzi, którymi stykać ze sobą będą te moduły.

Since I plan to pour resin over the modules after painting, I cut strips from transparent binding covers and glued them with polymer adhesive to the edges where the modules will connect with each other.

Na koniec nałożyłem kolejną warstwę zmieszanej z klejem do drewna ziemi do kwiatów, uszczelniając łączenie przeźroczystym pasków, które także przyciąłem do kształtu brzegów. Nakleiłem kilka dodatkowych kamieni i na tym zakończyłem ten etap prac.

Finally, I applied another layer of potting soil mixed with wood glue, sealing the joints of the transparent strips, which I had also trimmed to match the shape of the riverbanks. I added a few extra stones, and with that, I completed this stage of the project.
